Chubby Chipmunk Hand-Dipped Chocolates

Great chocolate stop when we are in town.

Delicious chocolate! Many varieties of truffles. I've yet to have one I didn't enjoy. Though the truffles are delicious, my favorite chocolates here are the Salted Caramel Milk Chocolate Patties. Some have commented on the prices here being high, and I beg to differ. They don't sell Crunch bars here, they sell high quality decadent sweets, and they are worth every penny.

The absolute best truffles and chocolate anywhere! Chip is a master and the quality is outstanding! You will be sorry if you don't stop and try one! She also have vegan chocolate choices!

Absolutely adorable little chocolate shop with wonderful truffles and rare chocolate bars that are amazing. Amazing service from the two young ladies behind the counter and delicious samples that will have you wanting more.

I remember the truffles here being better than they were this time. 3 stars because it's still chocolate, but just Godiva level chocolate. Doesn't compare to chocolate from Belgium or like Teusher's truffles or something of that quality. Probably still the best chocolatier you'll find in South Dakota.

Awesome selection of truffles with amazing flavors. Only thing I would change about my trip would be to go earlier while they still have a full selection.

This is a definite destination if you're going to be within 100 miles of Deadwood!! Wonderful chocolates and staff! I came here every year during Sturgis for 7 years, usually more than once. Haven't been back to SD in a while, but hope to again. I sure miss those chocolates!

Definitely will talk about this to my friends and family when I get home. A trip to this amazing chocolate shop has made this vacation even better. The truffles are so savory and can easily be shared. Definitely worth the money! I plan to come back today to get some of that ice cream I saw.

Neat little chocolate shop between lead and deadwood. They have a huge selection for such a small shop. This is definitely a great small business in the area and worth checking out if you're passing through. I got some 80% cocoa chocolates sourced from Peru and it was delicious.

Ok so this place looks like a converted 100 year old service station from the outside. The inside is very nice, and much more indicative of the world-class chocolates created on site. Seriously, this is simply amazing and a must-stop. The prices do reflect the quality! You probably aren't going to walk out with pounds of chocolate unless you don't need to make this month's rent payment on time...but they're the best-tasting treats I've ever had.

Hard to believe how high quality of product is coming out of this old gas station. You HAVE to stop if you are anywhere nearby.

Attempted to get a Lemon Merignue truffle out of vending machine and had trouble with machine but sales staff helped right away and got a key to open the machine.

The employees and owner are absolutely wonderful. We drive all the way from Gillette just to get our truffles. Yes they are that good. The owner threw in a homemade delicious lollipop for my 7 year old today and that made her day that much more fun. The chubby chipmunk will always have our business and we are loyal to her . No matter where we live we will travel to go to the chubby chipmunk. If you haven't tried them you are truly missing out. I am not a chocolate fan but my daughter begged me to try one and now even I eat chocolate. Thank you ladies!!! We had a good day thanks to you

This place is awesome. We’re from Nebraska and make several trips a year to “the Hills” and the Chubby Chipmunk is ALWAYS a multiple stop location. Absolutely superb artisan chocolates and some of the friendliest people you’ll run into in the Black Hills. We tell everyone we know, if they’re ANYWHERE in the Black Hills, “you have to stop at the Chubby Chipmunk!”

These chocolates were amazing!!! Triple threat and raspberry cream were my favorites! The place is kinda deceiving from the outside, but the chocolates surpass expectation for a tiny town in south dakota! We went back almost everyday on our vacation here to get more! There is a vending machine outside for chocolates if you come after hours too, though choices are limited from there. Don't skip this if your in Deadwood!

Everyone thinks their chocolates are the best. High prices, but they say you get what you pay for. Tiny little hole in the wall place with plenty of charm.

I just moved to South Dakota from Texas, I was given a box of these as a gift from the girls at my job. I shared them with my husband after dinner, and we both enjoyed the gift and how decadent each truffle tasted. I told my husband that he too should stop in to choose a gift for me there, LOL, especially since the holiday season is here! I can't wait to stop in and check the place out for myself, and get gifts for others for the holidays.

These are THE best chocolates ever. You can get them in Deadwood SD or at the Alex Johnson in Rapid City. This is one stop you need to add on your itinerary when visiting the Black Hills.

This was probably one of the best places we visited while in Deadwood. I'm not a fan of chocolate but my family definitely enjoys it. The all really liked the chocolates they chose. My girls loved the Chipmunks outside too!

I cannot stress how amazing the chocolates are at the chubby chipmunk. We came through town just driving through from Wisconsin and happened to grab a map with attractions around town. I said lets go. We noticed upon parking that they do have a vending machine outside the front door to get truffles in case you pass through when its closed. Such a great idea. So we stopped and it was definitely a highlight of our trip. SO AMAZING! They are the best truffles I have ever had. We have ordered online just to have more. They are pretty expensive but you wont regret it one bit. We are going to be in the area in fall of 2018 and we will be going out of our way quite a bit just to stop there.

Love Chubby Chipmunks whenever we are in town we stop in for a few truffles. Selection varies. I was disappointed last time no raspberry but I did try a few new ones due to being out of what I usually order that were delicious . I do recommend to everyone I know that visits the black hills.
